Abstract
The two-dimensional steady-state propagation of electrostatic waves is governed by ∂v/∂τ + ∂3v/∂ξ3 + ∂(|v|2v)/∂ξ = 0, the Complex Modified Korteweg-DeVries equation. The properties of this equation are studied.
