The two-dimensional steady-state propagation of electrostatic waves is governed by ∂v/∂τ + ∂³v/∂ξ³ + ∂(|v|²v)/∂ξ = 0, the Complex Modified Korteweg-DeVries equation. The properties of this equation are studied.
